Setting up the two-way-integration is easy and should only take a few minutes.
You'll need Jira Administrator Global Permissions to follow the steps below.
1. Authorize airfocus by installing the airfocus Priorities & Roadmaps app
Install the airfocus Priorities & Roadmaps app from the Atlassian Marketplace and follow the instructions on the screen to authorize airfocus for your Jira instance.
This step has to be done only once.
2. Log into airfocus
3. Create a new workspace in airfocus or select an existing one
For new workspaces, pick from one of our ready-to-use templates to get started in minutes.
Please keep in mind that airfocus integrations are always per workspace. Please make sure to add Jira again for new workspaces. You can add multiple Jira integrations to a given workspace (e.g. from different Jira projects or instances).
4. Integrate the workspace with your Jira project
To do that, simply click on the "Integrations" icon within your workspace and connect with Jira.
Enter your Jira instance URL (e.g. https://airfocustest.atlassian.net/), grant the workspace access to Jira and follow the directions on screen (in Jira) to finalize the integration.
Next, verify access.
Done. You're all set to prioritize your Jira issues and build more effective roadmaps.
5. Configure integration filtering
Decide which Jira project and issue types you want to import or sync. For issue types, use JQL to specify criteria for which issues to load (read more about JQL here).
Example: If you just to import/sync Jira epics and stories with a To Do status, simply use this command: issuetype in (Epic, Story) AND status = "To Do"
6. Configure integration mapping
Use mapping to define how information in Jira should be mapped to information in airfocus. If you change an issue or item in one system, the other system will be adjusted accordingly.
You can define how Jira statuses should be mapped to airfocus lanes and/or how Jira labels should be mapped to airfocus labels.
Furthermore, you can define which Jira label you want to attach to a Jira issue that is synchronized with airfocus.
7. Configure additional options
With two-way sync, the changes that you make in Jira will be reflected in your airfocus workspace and vice versa, saving you time and keeping your team organized. In case of conflicts (e.g. a simultaneous title change in Jira and airfocus), we will always use the data from Jira as the leading system.
When "Archive unknown issues" is enabled, then previously imported items will be archived in airfocus, if they are not present in Jira anymore (or just do not match the JQL filter anymore)
